Repeatability starts with the model
An approved 3D model and prototype are the “master” of a series. Every subsequent batch reproduces them from the same mould and parameters. That is why a professional manufacturer archives models, moulds and product process cards: alloy, weight, plating thickness, finish. When a brand returns a year later for a repeat, it gets an identical product — without redesign.
Machines give form, people give quality
Casting, CNC and laser ensure the thousandth piece has the same dimensions as the first. But a team of jewelers is responsible for finishing each one — and it is this manual stage that separates premium serial production from mass product. At Argentum over 60% of production staff have 20+ years of experience, which translates into stable detail quality regardless of batch size.
Batch quality control
Every batch passes inspection before packing: conformity with the master, dimensions, plating and finishing quality, clasp function. For large brands it pays to agree an acceptance protocol: a reference sample, tolerances and a reporting method. How to organise this on the brand’s side is described in jewelry quality control.
Planning: capacity, lead times, seasonality
A large brand needs a partner that can carry the seasonal peak and keep the deadline. Capacity of 15,000–25,000 pieces a month with headroom allows planning collections ahead and responding to re-orders. The standard lead time is about 6 weeks from confirmation, and shorter for repeats from the archive. We write about volume and cost in MOQ in production.
What to ask a manufacturer
Do you archive moulds and process cards? What is the batch inspection protocol? What capacity and seasonal headroom do you have? Who performs finishing and what experience do they have? The answers say more than a catalogue. Our approach is on the custom production and jewelry manufacturer pages.
