Restoration of monstrances, reliquaries and custodia

Monstrances and reliquaries are richly decorated objects, often with filigree, gemstones and rays. Their restoration calls for experience and precision.

Scope of work

Restoration covers cleaning, gold and silver plating, recreating missing rays and details, repairing the lunette (melchizedek) fixings and stabilising the structure.

Recreating missing parts

Based on surviving fragments we recreate ornament, rays and filigree elements, keeping to the style of the object.

A durable finish

We select electroplated coatings so the result is durable and even — including in hard-to-reach, deeply profiled areas.
