Gold plating
Applying a layer of gold onto another metal (e.g. gold-plated silver). The layer thickness determines how long the colour lasts.
Silver and rhodium plating
Silver plating gives a silver look on a cheaper metal. Rhodium plating protects silver and white gold from tarnishing and is hypoallergenic.
